Old Eureka steam mop with washable pads
Don Aslett mop with washable microfiber pads
On smaller jobs: Clorox Scentiva pads on my smaller Don Aslett mop.
All three bathrooms have the same white ceramic tile floors; the kitchen has laminate made to look like ceramic tile- without the actual grout- WooHoo!
The rest of the floors on the main level are hardwood. I use Bona floor cleaner on the DA mop with microfiber pad.

Funny, I just ran out to get some Swiffer-type wet cloths. I'vd been using my Haan steamer but I find myself using it less and less. Seems like too much of an ordeal and I found a Swiffer mop in the utility closet I might as well put into use.
I think I'll still use the steamer but try to get out there with the Swiffer on a regular basis. I only need it for the kitchen, powder, laundry room , and a bit of hallway. High traffic areas. I need to keep them cleaner!

I used to use the sponge mop that you squeeze the water out. I liked that because I used hot water and my disinfecting solution and could continually scrub and rinse out mop. I felt like the floors were very clean after.
We currently have an Oreck steamer, which is fine but I still think scrubbing with the sponge mop was better. I recently spilled a glass of water near a wall and wiped up with a microfiber cloth and it did not look clean. I was not happy about that! The other thing is that I think people are mislead to thinking the steamer sanitizes but my understanding is that it needs to sit on a spot for 8 seconds to do that. That ain’t happening!

Hands and knees, only way I know that every inch is totally clean. Did two bathrooms, a utility room, an entry with quarry tile and one kitchen today

@Teddie
Just the only way that feels clean to me, enables me to get into every corner, up to the baseboards, behind the toilet, etc. Always have done it that way and, at 72, am probably too old to change.

@minkbunny I admire that! I used to do the same as you for the very same reasons. How do your knees do down on the hard floor?
When I started posting I remember you talking about your wonderful life and you were in your 60s, where I’m at now. We live out in the country and I love where we live. Now you’re 72. Hard to believe the time that has passed but so great that you’re able to do all that you do. 😊
