I thought I'd ask since I want something other than the old cotton wring and squeeze, or the "mash the sponge" models!
The last thread on this was in 2012!

@ECBG I am currently using a Bissell steam mop. It doesn't rock my world but it does a decent job on all my floors.

I'm using a Light N Easy steam mop. It's exactly that...light and easy. I love it.

I use a Haan Steam Mop. I really like it, but you have to understand the limitation. You have to vaccum first as it will not pick up anything laying on the floor. It will just push it around.
If I were to buy now, I would choose a different brand only because nothing ever seems to be in stock on their website and hasn't been since way before the pandemic. I tried to get a new hose and some new pads, but only received the pads.

No mops for me. I have used steam cleaners with stainless steel tanks for about 20 years. The best is the Wagner cannister. Can be used for many cleaning needs unlike mops!!

I alternate between a Bissel combination vacuum/steam cleaner and a Swiffer Wet Jet. The Bissel does a pretty good job, but it's noisy and a bit heavy. The Wet Jet is extremely easy to use and does a fairly good job, although it does leave some streaks on my tile floors. I'm not a super picky person though - more interested in the fact that my floor is clean.
The best steam cleaner I've ever had was a Hahn - lightweight and did an awesome job. Unfortunately it only lasted a couple of years. I should look for a replacement because I liked it the best.

I gave up using the steamers: when I used a white cloth on an area when I was done, I saw what was still on the shiny floor.
I now use a rechargeable telescoping floor brush with 409 spritzed on the floor section. Then I use terry cloth-wrapped floor mop to pick up the suds. I can easily remove and rinse out the cloth.
My floor sparkles and is white-glove clean. I am 76 and haven't been able to get down on my knees for several years.

@jlkz What brand floor brush do you use? I am interested in trying one.

Only once in my life did I use a string mop. Hardest, messiest household chore I ever tried so that was enough of that. For years I used a sponge mop but now I use a Bissell Floor Cleaner

@Boomernichols I had a Bissell steamer for use on our laminate floors. I loved it! Easy to use and did a good job. At our current home we have bamboo floors and steam is not recommended--too bad.
I've been using an O Cedar mop that has a spray attachment and removable, washable pads. It works OK.
