The living room reminds me of the 2011-13 tv show Necessary Roughness, about a Long Island psychotherapist who worked with a professional football team.  Starring Callie Thorne, many scenes were shot in her home office, and this living room, while different from the office in her show, gave me the same feeling of a place to sit without distractions while pouring your heart out to your therapist.

I do not mean that in a negative way, just that it is a serene place where secrets could be told. Very calming.
