Re: Washing Pillows or Toss?

We use synthetic My Pillows and I wash them every 6 months. It does take awhile to dry them thoroughly but they do come out of the dryer super fluffed up.

Re: Washing Pillows or Toss?

I have tried washing pillows and wound up with lumpy uneven pillows.  Took forever to wash and dry.

Now I throw them away when they are flat or uncomfortable.  I get them in Costco at a very reasonable price.

Re: Washing Pillows or Toss?

I don't like washing pillows.  They end up getting lumpy.  If you're using protective covers or pillow cases, I don't see the need to wash them often.

Re: Washing Pillows or Toss?

We use memory foam pillows and they are great.  I've never washed a pillow. After about 2 years they get trashed. I also use a pillow protector under the pillow case and these are washed every week with the rest of the bedding.

I usually just replace mine.  Sometimes, it's been because what I (the body) felt better sleeping on.  I think pillows sometimes improve and it's probably for me, felt healthier to get a new one now and then.

Re: Washing Pillows or Toss?

We sleep with MyPillows.  I wash and tumble them dry a couple times a year.  Don't over stuff your washer.  I'd only put two pillows in for a load and position them so the drum stays balanced.

Re: Washing Pillows or Toss?

Places like Sams and Costco have perfectly nice pillows that don't last but as cheap as they are, buy and toss about 6 or 8 months in. I always have one pillow and one stacked at a slant in front of it, and little pillows to prop up with.  I can adjust to all sleeping poses.

I don't recall ever washing a pillow.

Re: Washing Pillows or Toss?

I wash our pillows when I see they need to be freshener and fluffed up. I just washed two pillows in our new tc5 washing machine a couple weeks ago. They came out clean and fluffed up.
