Re: WHY ask customers to complete return instructions....

I recently exchanged an 'as is' pair of shoes- there was a grease mark on one shoe. I wrote exchange on the return label and figured if they didn't read my instructions the shoes weren't meant to be. This had been my 2nd attempt to get the shoe order okay (they sent the wrong color 1st time!)! More often than not they just return the item- this time I got the exchange and am pleased with the shoes finally! I really didn't expect the exchange to happen, it's a shame you automatically assume it'll be a mess up. {#emotions_dlg.bored}

I don't select exchange anymore. I don't know that I ever got a replacement, it was always returned. Now I just send the item back and place an order for a new one.

I write EXCHANGE on the outside of the package now because that has happened to me before. I recently exchanged something and got email notification right away that it was done and on it's way to me.

Re: WHY ask customers to complete return instructions....

I've never asked for an exchange, but I always get a confirmation e-mail when a return item is processed. If an item was defective, QVC has always given me full credit including all shipping charges. I do check each time to ensure that the credit has been handled correctly, but I've never had a problem.

Re: WHY ask customers to complete return instructions....

I too, have had problems returning items. I print the larger return postage form and completely fill out the request of a return, merchandise credit, even exchange, etc.. I'm frustrated as I've asked for an even exchange twice and have instead received a refund. I'm then having to re-buy the same item sometimes at a higher price than originally paid. I too, have lost out on the easy pay options. To those who have had no problems with your returns, consider yourself lucky.

Re: WHY ask customers to complete return instructions....

I so agree, the same thing happened to me on the other shopping channel, HSN, I ordered the TS Diane Gilman leggings and instructed them to ship me a different size. I saw that they were available on wait list but never received them, so I called and they said they weren't available at the time I sent my original purchase back (yeah right). I thought what bad service, they know full well that the TS price is what I was hoping to still get. Needless to say I did not reorder since I didn't want to pay full price, just wasn't fair.

In 27 years of returns I have never had a single problem. Always get handled as I request.

Re: WHY ask customers to complete return instructions....

If I ask for confirmation, they always send it (I usually get a letter and an emall). I stopped asking, and just follow the return tracking online to make sure it gets there.

The only time I wanted an exchange, was a ring that I needed in a larger size. They sent me the same (wrong) size again. I learned from that, to re-order and not trust the QVC returns people to get an exchange right.
