Do you prefer vacuum cleaners with bags or the bagless vacuum cleaners?

My main vacuum cleaner is a Kenmore that does take the bags.   I also have a smaller  bagless one that I use for quick touch-ups.

I definitely prefer the vacuum cleaners with the disposal bags.

My Kenmore is really getting old, although it works perfectly.    When I finally have to replace it I will look for one that does take the disposal bags.

Most of our home does have wall to wall carpeting so I need a really good vacuum.

Does anyone have a vacuum cleaner that they would recommend?

Bagless for sure- get a Shark - I have the lift-off and another one and they are both excellent - have had them for a couple of years and still doing fabulous job (I have 2 dogs).  Highly recommend!

Re: Vacuum Cleaners

I gave up bagged vacuums long ago because the bags were getting so expensive and I have a shedding dog which made me change bags a lot. Plus they get stinky.

I used to be a loyal Kenmore user but then I bought a Shark navigator Lift-Away. It's the best vacuum for me because it's light enough and bagless. Shark makes top-rated vacuums. Millions of people have given their top ratings over the years. How can they be wrong?

Does this Kenmore "Sears Best" look familiar? I bought one in 1980 and it still works. I just don't use it any more.

I love my Sanitaire upright, 11 years old, it does use bags.

I also have the Shark navigator Lift-Away. I love it! I almost look forward to using the vacuum. It is the best, easiest to use vacuum ever. I have hated all of my vauums since I had to give up my Kenmore canister so many years, ago. I hated my Dyson. I have had a couple other brands, but I borrowed my MIL Shark when I saw it at her house & then I stalked it on Kohls until it went on sale & I had a 30% off & I got Kohls Cash & Ebates money.

It. Is. Awesome.

I love my Miele.  My first one was still going strong after 20+ years when I ruined the floor tool by doing something stupid.  Rather than buy another floor tool I bought another Miele vacuum cleaner since it was so old.  I think it's great.  It's expensive, but it's worth it IMO.

I have both ... no preference.  I'm only concerned that it's lightweight and actually cleans the carpets/floors.

We have a 3-car garage and I have been trying to decide on a vacuum to use out there. I wouldn't want a bag so I thought a canister would be good, just to empty out. My husband thinks the Shop-vac is fine. It's really loud and I'm still not sure what's good to use. Sweeping is a major job and dust flies all over. At one time Roomba made one for the garage or shop area that now I would have loved to have got but they don't make it anymore.

I remember my daughter's friend's mom was out vacuuming their garage once when I went over to pick her up and I was so impressed with how clean she was and thought it was a great idea!

Another Shark fan here.  I could never go back to bags.
