I think Photo A and #14 are my favorites.

I do love the little birdies atop the books in #16. These two are probably closest to how I do vignettes.

And I like the seasonal (Easter) arrangement in #1.

Got a chuckle out of the toilet tank.  How do you explain to someone their photo "made" the toilet tank?  LOL

@Oznell

I love all of the floral paints which remind me of riding my horse on the Blue Ridge parkway surrounded by honeysuckle bushes.

I like the birds on the books, very sweet.

Love this! So fresh and spring like!

Two comments remind me that creating these little "scenes" in one's house have the traits of being both a science, sometimes,  but mostly an art--

@wagirl ,  when you say, your things look like they wouldn't necessarily work together, but when they are all together-- voila, something pleasing results.

And @Marsha2003 ,  when you say "styling flat surfaces can be fun, but challenging",  no truer decorating words spoken!

For me it definitely is stumbling trial and error--  sometimes I think, aha, that will be great-- and it falls flat.  But if you love things, there's usually SOMETHING connecting them, so they often do come together in a way you'd like.  The experimenting and playing around is what's fun, isn't it, and you learn things.

Ha, ha, @faeriemoon ,  cute.  Maybe it's best not to break it to them, let them discover it on their own...

@ECBG , riding your horse through honeysuckle, heavenly...

Is it a vignette when you balance little birds on your favorite old books?   Yup, I'd say so.

I liked some of the elements and some of the ideas in some of the vignettes posted.

Liked when the vignettes created a bit of a diorama effect, such as vignette numbers 7, 8 and 9, where the tabletop floral blended with the flower landscape wall art behind it.

Liked vignette number 16 - the little white glass birds on top of the upright and leaning books.  Normally I prefer that items not be placed on top of books because, among other reasons, they make it awkward and inconvenient to access the books.  But in some instances it is okay, as for example with the birds above, and this example:

Sleeping cat, library, books, paw, painting, shelves, cat, pisici, art, sleep, HD wallpaper ...

Oh, how precious, @QVCisFun !   And it's funny-- kitties seem to love to settle on something with "texture",  even though it might not seem that comfortable to us.   So old books might seem inviting to them.

Mine adore "crackly" paper, so if I have newspapers or something around me, they know to climb on and take a nap, after they've made it crackle alot....

Thanks @Oznell I love those vignettes. They all made me smile.

I think that chandelier if fabulous and the books with the birds balanced on them is a lot of fun. I have some glass birds that were my Mom's. I think I will have to find them and use them in a similar way.

I'm trying to figure out how to have fresh flowers in my house - I have 2 cats so I have to "protect" any plants from them. The feral kitten might be smart enough to NOT chew on them - certainly my dear Honey was but my Siamese who is almost 15 can't be trusted.  All of the live plants are contained in large glass terrariums until it gets warm enough for them to go back out on the porch. A friend sent me a lovely bouquet one year for my birthday - which has lilies in it - well that never made it inside the house since they are deadly to cats. I took a photo of it and sent it to her with my thank you but it lived on the enclosed porch where the cats don't go!

There were so many wonderful ideas here that I'm going to poke around in the house for things that I have put away. Mom also had a collection of cranberry glass. I think I'll pull that out too and use it with my spring decor.

@Oznell love those etched glasses!  Another inspired item. I have hot pink (gee that's kind of a theme with all the Barbie stuff these days) glasses - high ball I think - that again were my Mom's. I have them in her glass fronted three cornered cupboard.

I have so much fun decorating with that cupboard - maybe that would be an option for me to put a bouquet of flowers in - I hadn't thought of that until now. For Christmas, I have my Lenox holiday china (the pieces that aren't on the table plus tinsel trees (again because the cat would eat them and I've had those trees for 30 yrs); in the spring, I have a china teapot with rosebuds that I display with the aqua and cream china that was my Mom's wedding china (do you see a theme here - sorry if I'm talking too much about  my Mom but even after 25 years, I still miss her and using her things makes me remember her with love). I think the pink glasses may come into that display this year to go along with the pale pink wine glasses I found at Pier One years ago. I guess this is more tablescape than vignette.

@GinaV24 ,  oh, boy, I hear you about plants and cats!  You have taken excellent precautions, with your terreriums and such.  I have a philodendron that has to live in the upstairs bathroom (where cats don't enter),  and we can never have poinsettias, etc. etc.  But the kitties are worth it...

I hope you can locate your Mom's cranberry glass for your spring decorating-- so pretty, and meaningful.

And your three cornered cupboard sounds like such a super place to display treasures-- I really like the way you rotate things in and out seasonally.  There's always something fresh to look at.  The pinks would be beautiful!

I have a blush or rose 'accent color' in my living room--  so I have a few pink throws, two different sofa pillows, and some retro pink pottery ( Haeger, and Hull ),  plus one pink Wedgwood tiny box, and a wee antique English pink Toby jug in pink, etc.   I love to rotate stuff in and out of the room, dependent on season, or whim.

Loved hearing about your decorating plans.

Thanks @Oznell glad to know I'm not the only one who has to protect the cats from themselves! When the Siamese were babies, I had a spider plant (fortunately it is not poisonous) but one of them snacked on it all the way down to the roots! After that I got cat grass and grew it for them and all of the other plants found safer places to be.

I love the sounds of your accent pieces in your living room. It's fun to play with different things for each season. The retro pink pottery and Toby jug sounds like really special pieces.

I'm definitely going to find the cranberry glass items to put out for the spring along with the pink highball glasses. As one of my friends says - what are you saving it for? Life's too short - I figure I should have fun with the things that I have with so many having lovely memories associated with them.
