Located in Southampton, NY.   It belonged to Christopher Burch, Tory Burch's ex-husband, and co-founder with her, of the huge Tory Burch merchandise empire.  Designed for him by Christopher Maya, specifically to be a cozy, manageable retreat, not a vast showplace-by-the-sea.  Now sold!   Must say I like his taste--  I would have had a hard time letting it go.  It's not a racy, slick beach house, but has a sweetly bygone air--

The entry is part of this great room, indicated by the circular, book and plant-laden skirted table.  Love circular or octagonal tables in an entryway, a very English country house look, and so welcoming--

Such a pleasant room, and it's clear that it wasn't static -- things got moved around and it went through several iterations-- note the coffee table is no longer red in this version!  Not a 'red' person myself, but I actually liked the red touches in the room-- I always like a 'faded' red, kind of a Byzantine red, which brings a touch of warmth...

I like the built-in, mini-library areas near the fireplace--

The other end of the living room is the dining space, equally well lit, with those beautiful windows.  Interesting lacquered table, a modern touch, keeps the room from going too "cliche preppy".

The library paneling is light enough not to be oppressive, and the spring green is a nice alternative to the favored blues in other spaces...

Pools with deep blue interiors, as opposed to bright aqua, always look more "natural" to me....

Another appealing thing about this property--  the nostalgic white and pink flower garden.  Not many published beach houses these days, feature this kind of meandering lawn of luxuriant, old-fashioned flower borders and beds.

I think its charming and I like it.  Some of the furniture is not me, but I still think it has a lot of charm.

Love the outside of this place but not much inside.

Just thinkk, Gary's beach pants are just in time to lounge around this place all spring and summer long!

The decor is very pretty although I'd want to replace quite a lot of it to make it work for me.  I absolutely love the outdoor and pool areas!!

When I lived on LI, every summer a group of us enjoyed a summer day in one of the Hamptons when we did a house tour and lunch.  What we all agreed on after every tour wasn't the decor as much as the wonderful way the architects had taken advantage of the light.   It's not at all surprising that the area has been popular with artists for more than a century.

I'm not an artist, but even as I scrolled through all the beautiful rooms, what I liked best was the light!

What stood out to me right away (love the house) was the picture in front of the bookcase. I love bookcases and this totally ruined the effect of having a bookcase for me. I don't think I put this very well but hope you get my drift.

Also, maybe I'm wrong but I'd say that's a fresh water pool. If they are on the coast it probably was ez to get one.

Beautiful home.

I love how fresh this room is with green and white, and mix of solids and prints. I think the wicker chairs and painting above the fireplace keep the room from looking too formal.

I like the pool.

A lot of the inside and furnishings just seem strange and cluttered to me with no rhyme or reason.

It could have been such a beautiful open and airy beach house with beautfiul windows.

It seems like they couldn't decide what they wanted and just stuck things here and there. Some super modern, cold and formal and other rooms, I just don't know.

Beautiful home.

The only room I don't care for is the Library. It looks very cold and uninviting to me.

I would also change the red table cover. Not being a fan of red it sticks out to me like a sore thumb.
