I think I am 'shopped out' with buying all the harvest and Christmas decor plus gifts for Christmas so I am taking a break.  I really didn't see anything that I need or want enough to order.  I'm really struggling with the storage for off season decor so I really need to be very selective with what I buy now and it will have to be something that I just can't pass up.  I did like the garlands in the shows.

@lucymo  I am sure I will be struggling in a few weeks also, lucy, am already wondering how everything is going to fit.

I was surprised that I found things I felt I needed to complete displays, but am already nervous that Valerie will bring garlands I can't resist.

I bought the Luminara blush pink candles yesterday for my Easter display.  The only other colored candles I have are red for Christmas.  I also bought two pink and white Dahlia wreaths as they are smaller than most, and plan to put two large hurricanes in the middle, again for the Easter/Spring displays.  I hope they are as nice as they appear.  I bought the Grandin Road Chloe candle rings for these displays, so think the colors in the wreaths will go perfectly with these.

One item I bought but shouldn't have is Valeries new rooster.  It has such a sweet face, and it looks more like a hen to me. Smiley Happy  I had bought the duck, but cancelled as I didn't like the burlap belly, thought a better job could have been done on this.

I looked at the bunnies at Pier1, very cute, but I have to remember how many I have, and I really have enough, if one can ever have enough bunnies. Smiley Happy

I will be returning two defective items and a top that is too big, today, will have to pay for the top, but not the other two.  I think Valerie is back on Feb. 2.

@mousiegirl  I'm sure the bunnies will get to me and I'll end up adding at least a pair of them.  I have a storage cabinet full of them now but they are my weakness,  HaHa, one of my weaknesses.  Sounds like you have a plan for all of your purchases and that's ok.  When I get into trouble is just buying items because I love them and when they come I don't have a clue where to use them.  Can't wait to see your kitchen decor pictures in a couple of months.

@lucymo  I am the same way re buying, but find, as I am sure you do, that once I have something, it turns out to be the perfect item that fits into my display, such as the two large green frosted trees on my kitchen table.  I bought them because I thought they looked wonderful, then wondered how in the world I could use them, but as it turned out, they were just what that display needed, now I am wondering how in the world will I store them, lol, but I will figure it out, have to. Smiley Happy

@mousiegirl  Yes, if I really love something I usually find a place for it.  I have a lot of Lisa R's fruit teardrops and some of Jill's Magnolia ones so I hung them on a closet rod in a spare closet.  You'll find a place for all of that extra stuff.  We have plenty of out building storage but I don't want my stuff out there.  We are hoarders, you know, just clean ones.  LOL

I was working from home today, so I watched.  I was somewhat interested in the mosaic lamps, but I didn't purchase one.  It looked like only the shade part of the lamp lit up, while the base remained dark.  I also liked the hurricane with micro lights, but she didn't offer any colors that suited my taste.  Either of these offerings would have looked beautiful in white.

I totally agree with you on the mosaic lamps.  I also noticed a bright clear edge at the bottom of the shade I thought looked odd.  I have 2 of the mosaic plug-ins & they don't have that.  I am seriously rethinking ANY battery operated items going forward!

@lucymo, That is a good idea.  Do you still store your wreaths and garlands in their original boxes, or have you come up with a space-saving way to store them also without crushing them?

Mine are still in their boxes in my spare room, and they take up so much space!  I don't have a basement to hang them in, and I don't want to ruin them in the extreme heat of the attic.  If I had a larger closet, I could hang them along the walls inside the closet, but it's just a standard sized closet, so there isn't room for that idea.  Anyone have any brilliant ideas for wreath and garland storage?

Although I always enjoy Valerie's home decor show and love to get decorating ideas on how to display things from her, and love Valerie's pleasant personality, I was disappointed in Valerie's evening show---it seemed like a lot of the same stuff and clearance....(glitter angels, mercury spheres, inspirational garden words, garden critters etc etc I've seen before)......I did like the hurricane lamp with the finial and the duck/rooster were cute but didn't buy a thing....

I had gone to HL earlier in the week and afraid I got a bit spoiled ---they are loaded up for spring!!!  Lots of very nice decor pieces, they even had some nice garden pieces, and some beautiful spring wreaths and garlands .....  I wish Valerie had shown similar pieces especially if she's not going to be back until July......Of course I already have some nice Easter pieces I've purchased from her in the past.....and some cute Jim Shore items too......

@SHOPR  Hi, the spare closet is wide enough to hang the wreaths on the wall and some are but a few of mine I put a plastic clothes hanger through them and hang on the rod along with the teardrops.  We are fortunate to have large closets in our house which allows for storing some of the more delicate items.  We have two very large walkin closets for our clothes so I can take this one closet and still leave a closet for guest.  I used to store wreaths in boxes but you're right it really takes a lot space.  I am out of space now though as the rod is full.  SHOPR, we all should win the lottery and build us a house with one huge room built with storage closets, cabinets and shelves just for our seasonal decor.  Good luck to us.  lol

@SHOPR  I bought the wreath and garland bags here, and can get four garlands, at least, in one bag, and two-three wreaths in another bag, then I place them on a shelving unit. Nothing gets crushed, and they stay clean.

I'm interested in the lamp with the fragrance beads.  Waiting for reviews before I take the plunge.

I don't know if the browser makes a difference but I use Firefox and this works for me!  Good Luck!
