Signed papers yesterday and he was going over little details.....he thinks I need to have under cabinet lights in 7 different locations!!! Is that a little overkill? Plus they would all be on one switch - is that normal? I've never had them but I thought it would be a couple spots and I could turn it on only if I was working in that area. He told me to look for a dimmer to put on them - that can be like a night light then.

It's a very nice look.

I have lights under my cabinets, and they are on a dimmer switch.

When I moved into my house we had a similar setup in the kitchen but since we've remodeled it we no longer have them. I guess it's a personal preference. I never really cared if we had them but hubby loves them.

I have lights on two separate dimmer switches.

I have LED lights...they are energy efficient, so having them on one switch won't be overkill.

I LOVE them...they add a lot to a kitchen!

Wow....thanks everyone. Guess I will keep all seven and probably just leave on one switch. I'll have 2 pendant lights over peninsula and they will be on a separate switch/dimmer.

I have them and all on one switch. They are really useful when I am using the mixer and adding ingredients etc.

Enjoy your new home!!!!!

I have them. They look beautiful. The perfect finishing touch. Always turn them on when we have company. You'll love the look.

I am wondering if those of you that have under cabinet lights, were they installed when your house was built or did you add them later? Did they have to go through your backsplash to install them? I would really like to have them but have no clue on how they are installed. Anyone care to give me a ballpark number for the cost? I want to pay for them out of my mad money and am just curious as to how much I need to save. Thanks.
