What do you put in your laundry to make it smell good? Has anymore ever tried Downy Fresh Scent boosters?
Any other ideas? I want my clean laundry to smell like perfume.

I am allergic to most scented items so I wash everything in Tide free which is unscented. I also usually use oxiwash.

I do not understand the need for fresheners. We are obsessed with scented everything and many people, like myself, have physical issues with artificial scents. One of the women at my gym uses Gain and I have to move around to avoid being close to her or else I have a sneezing fit. What is wrong with laundry smelling clean? I love that smell.

One of the young guys at work had such a strong smell of laundry product, when he still lived with his parents, that you could smell him a mile away. His mother did the laundry and she must have used an entire bottle of detergent on his clothes. I wasn't the only one that noticed it either. After he married, this changed and I no longer noticed it. I guess his wife either did the laundry or showed him the proper way to do it and not use so much.
I personally like to use some of the fragrance boosters, if the items I am washing are somewhat musty, but I NEVER use as much as the instructions say to use and I don't use them on clothing that we will be wearing so as not to irritate those around us.

I don't like heavily scented but I am in search of the scent of the ORIGINAL Downy for my sheets/bedding that I wash and hang out. Either my sniffer has changed or they don't make that nice, light April Fresh smell anymore. All the scents seem to be the mountain fresh which is way to powerful smelly to me. Even the bottles labeled Downy April Fresh don't seem to be the same scent it use to be.
If anyone knows of a light scented alternative, please let me know! I'm tired of buying bottle after bottle of fabric softener that I can't stand to use.

Purex makes scent beads that are a lot less expensive and they are awesome, there is nothing nicer than the scent of nice clean fresh laundry, and their beads deliver.

I use unscented laundry soap. Do you know how strong some of the soaps are scented?
I have unscented downy which I mix with a little lavender scented softener from Walmart.
I wish that I could find the original scented Downy too. Why do they always change something that is fine the way it is?

I use Downy Unstoppables in-wash scent booster in the "fresh" scent. I sprinkle the little pellets on top of the load before adding water. You can use as little/much as you want. I use just enough so that my laundry has a fresh scent when it comes out of the dryer. If I bury my face in the items, I can smell the scent but it's definitely not overpowering. Not sure that anyone else could even smell it.
