too many things crammed into this rather small room! Trim down the pieces and to me it could be a nice cozy spot for reading!

@CANDLEQUEEN I love everything but the white walls...too much white. I prefer warmer shades/colors. That is what brings cozy/warmth to a room for me

I would remove the chairs in front of the fireplace and maybe even the floral fabric chair...that would open it up and I would like it a lot more.

Who puts chairs like that in front of a fireplace? Those would have to go, along with that enormous coffee table. And I'm not a fan of the plants on the mantelpiece.

Get rid of all that and I could relax in there with a good book.

The cocktail table is too bulky. The mixture of furniture is off. Mixing too many different designs and they don't compliment each other. I say take everything out of the room and start over and then you read. A nice comfortable chair with ottoman and a light than comes overhead to give light on your book. The kind of light you can swivel and direct the light.
