There'll be Snow and Mistletoe...

So... without waxing too nostalgic... My version of a 'home for Christmas' has often involved some version of a yellow frame house... Don't ask me why, I don't know but it just has... A number of years ago, I decided to collect Christmas houses... I only ended up with five or six because I decided this was yet another collection I simply did not need and for which I didn't have room... That said, the first I purchased was (you guessed it...) a little yellow cottage... If I could, I'd have moved into it... Well this home is more a 'center hall colonial' than a cottage, but it still resonates...

There is something about photos and paintings of winter scenes that always attract me!

Its a pretty house but I'd like it better a couple shades lighter in color.

It is a lovely house and I'm sure the inside is appealing and pretty.  I love big old houses with lots of rooms and space  but I also love NY apartments in the Village.  I have neither but still admire both!!!!!

I love pale yellows.  This house would be too dark for me.  The color in the pic below is as dark as I would go.

As long as the snow stays in the picture.

The home is so pretty, but I agree that it would be even lovlier in the pale yellow.

Two points I'd make about the shade of yellow... First, I suspect the color looks more intense than it is because of all the snow, especially juxtaposed with that on the roof.... The other thing is that as much as I love yellow frame houses, no matter how good the paint or the painters, yellow fades easily... The house across the street from my mothers is the most adorable yellow Dutch Colonial, but I'll tell you, I'm not sure I'd want to be responsible for trying to keep that house yellow!  Could be, whoever owns this house intentionally chose a deeper color, knowing it would fade... I think I'm good with the deeper yellow...

I like everything about that house.
