A dining room transformed- Image may contain: people sitting, living room, table and indoor

If you have a dining room that you don't use, have you repurposed it into another space that you do use?

@lolakimono, I still have the dining room. Prefer the library.

I no longer have a separate dining room since we downsized to our townhouse.  But I never would have changed my dining room in my previous home even though we really only used it for holidays.  I loved my dining room furniture and it always looked lovely to me........even when there was nobody in the room.   I do agree, if I ever built another home (which I seriously doubt) I would skip the dining room as it is IMO, a waste of space.  The change in the before and after photo is creative in the least.

Definitely like the library better than the dining area. That really wasn't a dining room but an area.  We downsized 3 years ago to a smaller house with open floor plan. I miss my dining room. We have a dining area off of the kitchen. But now we are cooking, eating and living in one large area.

I don't have a separate dining room. If I did, rather than eliminate the dining room altogether, I'd probably combine uses, perhaps as a dining room/library or perhaps as some other alternative.

I still want the dining room.

I look forward to family meals, friends gathering and that  means more to me than books.

I've only re-read 3 books and have kept those, but donated all the rest.  Used to have shelves filled with books I read once.  (No fiction!)
