Re: Thanksgiving decorations

[ Edited ]

@raspberrygal Oooh, very nice JS Thanksgiving pumpkin!🎃

Yes, I do.

I have early fall decor that comes out gradually, both at my door, and inside. That segues into some Halloween added the week of Halloween. Just a few touches.

Now through Thanksgiving I change it up to what I consider my Thanksgiving mood.

So outside wreath goes from early fall foliage/grapevine wreath and fall hanging to to my more jewel toned, foliage/greenery/Thanksgiving wreath. My table I switch from earth toned foliage/pumpkin fall setting to more jewel toned mats added to it. That's the way everything stays until Thanksgiving, and then comes Christmas.

I always say this but it works so well for me...I'm in CT...my dining table is in an open living/dining setting and surrounded by one wall of sliders and a big side window...so the outside foliage, season changing and colors, dictate and blend with what I do inside, and when I do it. It all works together.

Speaking of counting blessings...the hanging I put at my door changes from early fall "Harvest Welcome" to now a pumpkin (that was my mom's, so it's a nod to her) that says "Today is a Blessing." 🧡

I love that Jim Shore pumpkin.

I don't have Thanksgiving decs.  I have mums and real pumpkins on my front stoop and an orange berry wreath on my front door.  Fall wreath in the entryway.  I add a few Halloween decs but take them down Nov 1st.  I'll leave the fall decs out till after Thanksgiving then put up my Christmas decs.

Years ago I had a wooden turkey door decoration - don't know what happend to it.

I have a ceramic turkey that I made years ago too - it's put away somewhere.

I agree we rush into Christmas too quickly.

@raspberrygal

I love your pumpkin, it's the perfect single decoration!

All I do is take down my spooky Halloween decor and leave the pumpkins and acorns, etc that I already have in place. I need to do that today....ugh!

Re: Thanksgiving decorations

I don't have specific Thanksgiving decorations. Instead I have harvest and autumn items in my home this time of year. I have a decorative grapevine wreath on my front door and another one in my sunroom. I have 2 velvet pumpkins, and a few leaf, floral, and berry arrangements scattered through the house. I also have autumn placemats and a tablecloth.

Re: Thanksgiving decorations

I don't put out decorations for Thanksgiving, but I do enjoy seeing them.

I completely agree, remember to be thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: Thanksgiving decorations

Garden flag, dish towels with pumpkins, and a harvest theme tablecloth are the only decor at my house.  Not a big fan of this stuff.

Re: Thanksgiving decorations

A metal turkey stake for the yard, a garden flag.  A few pumpkins but mostly fall items.  Not overdone.  A table runner.  I have Indian corn on my front door.
