[ Edited ]

Even if you are not in the market for a set now, bookmarking this video to keep particulars in mind will be useful.

I highly recommend watching...

Our washer/dryer set is Kenmore. We bought the set back in 2000 when we got married and it is still going strong. Once a year we continue to have maintenance/service on the set.  Smiley Happy

No more washers with Mother Boards that break like Maytag.  Mine stopped working the first 6mos.  Now I have a Speed Queen Washer & i love it.

Agree gaga.

I was tired of replacing parts or dealing with issues with Whirlpool and Maytag. Recently bought a Speed Queen set and I very happy.  More expensive but worth every dime.

Yes, Speed Queen washer for me too.  It replaced a Kenmore Elite washer that was very old.  The Kenmore dryer is still going strong.  I've never subscribed to the need to replace a still useful appliance just to have a matching set.  As long as they're both white, I'm good.  After all they're in the laundry room, not the living room.  When/if the dryer dies, it'll get replaced too.

@shoesnbags same here.  Different brands of washer/dryer, but they're both white.  I don't care if they don't match.

I wish I had watched this the video before I bought my Samsung washer and dryer, I hate them. And what's with the moisture sensor in the dryer, I hate it, it constantly turns my dryer off and the clothes are still damp! There is no way to turn that feature off. 😡

One way to bypass the moisture sensor feature is you can use the timed drying cycle, but it goes into Eco mode, lower temperature and longer dry time, that takes way too long for a drying cycle.

We had a repair man come to fix our 15 year old whirlpool washer 6 years ago but  motor and transmission was no good. He said stay away from LG and Samsung and he washers there junk and and he recommended ge and whirlpool washers. So we and my brother in law both bought ge washers. Under 6 years his and our washers had very expensive transmission problem. Not sure what he bought but I bought a speed queen tc5 two months ago and I love it.
