I keep a woven autumnal muted  stripe tablecloth on my table at all times. Only because of the cat. The table is a dark wood with really no grain so scratches would stand out like a sore thumb in the light filled room it is in. It is not formal at all, just picks up the colors from the decor in my home and is combined with a beaded table runner and a very large bowl center piece. Must say, looks good!

@Witchy Woman  Stores on every corner, so no need to drive.  My grandfather kept his car until he couldn't get up every day to move it for the street cleaners.  My brother took it home to Long Island.

My great grandfather bought the brownstone they lived in.  It had 3 apartments.  So my grandmother lives in the middle apartment, her brother and his wife lived in the top apartment and her sister lived in the first floor apartment. 

I could not imagine living that close to my brother and sister.  LOL
