Liking the furtniture, window set-up and stained glass piece. I'd lose the rug, curtains and the curtain rods, replacing all with things offering a softer, warmer look. I especially dislike the rug and curtain rods. Changing them might permit me to keep the curtains.

I understand the striped rug being used to pull out the colors and compliment the dark wood of the table. Yet, I prefer @GingerHead's rug choices.
I like the drapes. A slight tonal contrast and doesn't pull focus away from the rest of the room.
One thing that immediately struck me in the first photo was the thought of that bench facing the window. Anyone needing to slide it back would have difficulty. So I thought it would be better and more practical against the window. Then I saw in the second photo that it had changed and in that photo the bench was at the window side and the chairs were now facing the window.

I see myself playing cards or board games there. Not sure how comfortable those chairs would be.

The space is pretty; I like the stained glass window and the lamp...
I agree with others who posted that the furniture looks uncomfortable
The light is good but the drapes are too heavy for the room.

I'm always interested in attitudes toward chairs; esp. antique chairs. It's amusing but true that previous generations seemed somewhat less concerned with physical comfort when seated...
My dining chairs are antique Scottish oak chairs, probably from the Craftsman era, which I got when I was in my 20's. They're rather straight, with upholstered seats, smallish compared to modern chairs, but very heavy for their size. We've often commented that they aren't the *most* comfortable, but have loved them for decades.
A strategically placed back pillow for longish dinners is recommended...
I've found old cane seats like the ones in image, to be quite comfortable. These chairs in the breakfast nook with their cane seats would probably see most people through breakfast, I'd imagine. Benches, even with a thick cushion, a bit trickier. I'd rather consign kids, if there are any, with their resilient backs, to that!

@Oznell I think many people fall under the misapprehension that the only comfortable chairs are those with upholstered or cushioned seats. The fact of the matter is many dining chairs are constructed with a plywood bottom and a cushion on top. After a long seating (or a heavy tush) they are mostly resting on a flat piece of wood. Wooden seats are generally made to conform to the butt, and cane and other woven materials naturally conform to the derriere; ergo they are much more comfortable.

I love the dining set and the drapes. However, I do feel it is too confined and would prefer more room.

Beautiful. My eyes were instantly drawn to the elegant pink floor to ceiling drapes. I love pink and that may be the perfect shade, dusty and nudish. Like you said not at all cutsey.
Pretty furniture and flower arrangement and I love when people hang stained glass windows in their windows.....
The only thing I may change is the stripped rug.
Maybe something like one of these....I just want more pink!
Yes, your picks are pretty.
'I like the original in the original post.It grounds everything and with the dark wood of the table and chairs, it's perfect.
