The "Kitchens I have Loved" blog has so many house treasures. Here she features this darling "cottage", designed by Jackye Lanham. Its interiors lean British in the sense of a reverence for tradition, but with some whimsy. Not for minimalists!
Oh, this gate! You'll notice little Gothic touches with the pointed arches, here and there in this house:
This entry doubles as a charming dining area:
Personally, I do prefer a somewhat more spare look, and I don't like fussy curtain treatments, but there are many clever touches here. That wall arrangement of old lanterns is striking!
This has to be the most formal room in the house. Very reminiscent of the balanced, and stately English country house look:
More gothic touches below:
A tucked-away library:
A wall and gate to dream about!
Edited to add: Never fear gang, I notified mods that I mistakenly stuck this in TV Movies instead of Home!

Adore the gate and the rock wall. The use of the entryway as a dining area was a good choice. I'm not a fan of dishes on the walls, but other than that a charming cozy cottage.

That's exactly what it looks like, doesn't it, @Judaline? Maybe that can justify my goofily posting the thread in TV/Movies instead of Home-- it's an "hommage" to little Margaret O'Brien's "The Secret Garden", ha.

Very traditional.
Such a nice contrast to rehabs that tear down all the walls, open all the doorways.
I really like it.

I love this house. So much architectural personality and character.
I'd make a few changes to the decor, add color, change a few styles and remove some of the wall doodads. But, it's gorgeous as is.
A++

What a beautiful home and garden. If I won the lottery this is just what I would look for not for one of those hideous McMansions or tear out the walls open it up and put up barn doors. I live in the Atlanta area wonder if this is in Buckhead?

I must be odd one out as I don't like the foyer. Not a big fan of them being crammed with furniture and things just because it is open space. Other than that, this is a very lovely home and I think the outside sets the tone for the inside. I'm like the other poster that doesn't like the inside of these beautiful old homes that have had walls torn out and redone ultra modern.

@Oznell what a charming cozy "cottage"! thanks for the pictures. the use of cream/gold walls, draperies etc allows the display of many collectibles, pieces of art without giving a feeling of clutter. very nicely done!
