My favorite tv house that I wanted to live in was Diagnosis Murder-****** Van Dykes house-gosh I forgot his character's name already!

I loved when they always sat out on the deck over the ocean!

I tried to find where that house was but never did.

I just tried to find it on Marina Coates sites but didn't see it.

I wonder if they don't tell the address to prevent stalkers like me lol!

Re: THE "I LOVE LUCY" CONNECTICUT HOUSE

I do remember that episode, @Witchy Woman .   In fact, the first picture I posted, I think, is from that one.  "Carolyn (Caroline?) Appleby"  who is pictured with her-- wasn't that the name of her sort of social-climbing friend, who encouraged her to get all that new "Early American" stuff, shown in picture.  Poor Ricky!   Didn't he make her return all of it?  Can't remember.

I like that episode, and the chaotic 'baby chicks' episode-- cheep, cheep!   And I think there was one with Ida Lupino and Howard Duff, love, and one with Tallulah Bankhead, of all people!

@MalibuFox ,  totally, the "Bewitched" house was a chameleon!   Kept things interesting...

@on the bay ,  and @ChiliPepper ,   both the "Diagnosis Murder" beach house and Jessica's Cabot Cove house would be divine to see--  always want to see more of them in the shows, but just got tantalizing glimpses..

@Toots711 ,  thanks for doing some sleuthing on the houses,  and finding more resources to check out!  Good stuff.

wow @Toots711 ! Thanks so much! How in the world did you find that it was also the Big Little LIes House?!  I had read that address but it's a fake address. It's actually on Broad Beach Rd. And I just read that you can rent it and other famous houses for $3-5,000 a night! The problem is I wouldn't want to leave! So greatWoman Very Happy

@Oznell,

I did get to look at the Parent Trap house on Marina's site. I had watched that movie years ago but didn't remember how gorgeous that house was!

Re: THE "I LOVE LUCY" CONNECTICUT HOUSE

You probably know this already,  @ChiliPepper ,  but the exterior shots of the Cabot Cove Victorian house are of an actual California house-- can't remember if it is a B and

B?   The interior sets are so elaborate-- Jessica is a maximalist and unapologetic collector of all manner of things--

The "Hooked on Houses" online site has more on Jessica Fletcher's house....

Re: THE "I LOVE LUCY" CONNECTICUT HOUSE

Oh, don't get me started on that "Parent Trap" house, @on the bay .   I also didn't realize how great it was until Marina did a deep dive on it--  I think it's one of her three favorite movie interiors, if I'm not mistaken.

She has another part of the blog where she points out how anyone can adapt the principles of cinema set design to make their own personal spaces more individualistic and visually exciting...

Re: THE "I LOVE LUCY" CONNECTICUT HOUSE

Great post!  I loved the Connecticut house the Ricardos moved into and I also liked their NY apartment.  Basically the Connecticut house  showed the living room, dining area, the kitchen maybe and a bedroom upstairs.

Settings enhance the storyline,  When I watch shows or movies i always check out the furnishings, decor, designs.  For me the settings set a mood.

Re: THE "I LOVE LUCY" CONNECTICUT HOUSE

I have always liked the "I Love Lucy" country house and furnishings, especially the dining room and living room, and the cafe curtains and swag valances.  Reminds me of Ethan Allen furnishings which I've always liked.  I liked their New York apartment sets too.  Comfortable environments in all their abodes.

I loved the "Bewitched" tv show set, furnishings, and dishware during the DickYork era.  Also, PERFECT casting with DickYork, Agnes Moorehead, and Elizabeth Montgomery.  Marion Lorne as Aunt Clara, Alice Pearce and George Tobias as Mr. and Mrs. Kravitz, Bernard Fox as Dr. Bombay, and Paul Lynde as Uncle Arthur, were also perfect casting.
