@AuntG , the second ( and even the first) "Leave It to Beaver" house is a favorite of mine too. It was a real family home, and the decorating of it showed restraint, yet it was inviting.
@kindred cats , I only started watching at the tail end of their holiday decorations, but was really impressed! Even the restaurants, etc. looked great.
@lovesallanimals , exactly. She could have Sue Ann make a mess in her little kitchen turning out "Veal Prince Orloff" for dinner guests, then hide it all with that pretty panel....

I only watched Y&R a few summers while growing up so I don't remember the house and I think I was watching it before Victor & Nikki were married. I'm not a fan of either house but prefer the second one. However, at least half of the decor items would need to be removed.
I always LOVED the apartment that MTM had. I couldn't wait to grow up and move out because I wanted one just like it. Well, that didn't happen. LOL!

I don't remember Kay ever wearing the veil. Are you sure it was Mrs. C, or could it have been Vanessa Prentiss (played by KT Stevens), mother of Lucas and Lance Prentiss, from the very early days? Lance, incidentally, was initially played by John McCook, now Eric on Bold and Beautiful. Vanessa had been burned in a fire which was why she wore the partial veil face covering.
Oh, yeah, lol. Now I remember. Thanks, @stevieb . That had to be almost 60 years ago, YIKES! My sister and I would watch this when we got home from school in the afternoon.
I haven't watched in years. I happened to tune in a couple years ago when I was sick. I channeled through and watched for a while. I have to say, after so many years, quite a few of the characters looked the same, at least enough to recognize them......like Victor and Nikki. Some have truely found the Fountain of Youth. ![]()

As for Mary, I was going to mention too and will never forget the Veal Prince Orfloff episode @Oznell... with Lou helping himself to half the servings and then trying to push some back onto the platter.
I recall when Mary moved to her new place, the gang had left to go somewhere and she was to meet them downstairs. She hung the M on her wall, shook her head and referring to her new apartment simply said "I don't like it"... Although she finally had an actual bedroom, it always looked like she had a young boy's single bed... Go figure...

I love so many movie and TV settings. I love Katherine Hepburn's NY apartment in Desk Set. In many of supernatural shows I watch, I always love the big Victorian houses and the furnishings. The houses always fit the story with much atmosphere! The fifties apartment settings in many movies are interesting also, modern but tasteful. The Christmas in Conn. home is another beauty, They are but a few , there are others.

@spiderw , the "Desk Set" interiors, and the "Christmas in Connecticut"-- total winners! There are so many-- Joan's beach house in "Mildred Pierce", Brian Keith's luxe but rustic ranch in "The Parent Trap", Ingrid Bergman's London apartment in "Indiscreet".....

@Oznell - Brian Keith's ranch in Parent Trap is my favorite!!!

We finally got to see Adam's version of Victor and Nicki's house 2.0. Another bachelor type living room with somewhat bland modern-ish features. MEH, if you ask me, but not awful. Liked it better before the redesign. You sort of have to wonder what all these new and probably costly set changes are about? Also wonder whatever happened to Victoria's house, not that it was anything very special.

@stevieb - If I remember correctly, Victoria's house was set up like the old Father Knows Best house.

@stevieb , agree, Adam's abode didn't look terribly interesting. But I was kind of distracted during that segment, found it hard to pay attention to the tedious back and forth betweem him and his ex-wife. Chelsea? She seems naive about what this move back in with him will mean...
@twinsister , I love the old "Father Knows Best" house! Was Victoria's house the one where Claire gave Jordan the sleeping pills? From what I could tell, it was kind of cute and cottagey.
I want a full tour of ALL the multiple homes in Genoa City, including the high rise apartment or condo of the couple who are helping the woman who hopes to re-unite with her ( estranged?) son. It's funny that Genoa City has vast open spaces with huge ranch complexes, and sophisticated New York-style apartments with twinkling urban views out the windows...
