I didn't realize how pretty, and how big it is-- 70,000 square feet in the Yorkdale Shopping Centre. I always get a serene feeling, just looking at photos of their room set-ups-- must be the "Old World" ambiance, the symmetry, or maybe all that cream, taupe and stone, ha.
Nifty cafe. "Truffled grilled cheese", anyone?
Who else puts enormous mounds of vari-colored moss next to a rug gallery...
Top floor, with view of Toronto...
I could see spending a whole morning, just wandering around, soaking up atmosphere. The fun thing about RH, is that there are good knock-offs now for those who enjoy their classical but pared-back style. but not the price....

What an elegant store!!! I would love to room around and admire everything. When B. Altman's was in Manhattan I loved being in there. As soon as I walked in I was taken back by its elegance, the crystal chandeliers, the Carpeting. When the store closed for good I was very sad. This Toronto store has similar appeal.

I still get a catalog from them every once in a while.
I used a piece from RH in my upstairs bathroom (maybe 20 years ago now?), a chrome (or polished nickel?) shelf to hold towels overhead, and it is still like a bit of jewelry in that room. And looks brand new.
This isn't my shelf, but it looks like this. I just learned it's called a "train rack," which further adds to the romanticism.

I would love to walk around a beautiful store like that one.
As a child my Mom and I would dress up and go to beautiful stores, have lunch, and window shop..we really bought very little (but always lunch).
AHHH when things were so simple.
I still love a nice store of any kind.

I've had my eye on the first sofa for over a year. Totally overlooking dogs, I believe it's MIC. 😭

I've always loved RH; they used to have an area than had gadgets ( my favorite was a flyswatter gun-- it worked great). Used to go to the store in Santa Barbara ( not sure if it's still there).

There are many attractive pieces. I wouldn't mind visiting out of curiousity.

Agreed, there are certain stores that just have that mystique, and stay in your mind forever! I don't have an Restoration Hardware near me, so I just drool at the ads...
That "train rack" that you got there is beautiful, and aptly described as jewelry for the home, @GingerPeach .
RH's design aesthetic has been so influential. One thing I really like about it is the "discipline". Typically, the accessories are oversized, but relatively few in number-- yet high quality and memorable. And I even find their restricted color palette (more restricted than mine) to be restful-- one reason their stores are so "calming" to be in, I think!
