Re: Suggestions pls, authentic country style light fixture.

@house_cat I think a black iron fixture of some type would go nicely with your color scheme. You might want to look at Pottery Barn.

I'm about to start shopping for a hanging light fixture for over my kitchen table. I'm looking for something simple, but with an authentic country vibe and I'm not really sure what that means in regard to light fixtures.

If you have a suggestion for me and could possibly post a photo, I'd be very appreciative.

FYI: the main colors in my kitchen and dining area are gray/cream/red.

I was into the country look and was looking for lighting/chandelier.  On line I found stores (mostly in PA)...Amish stores to be exact that had absolutely beautiful chandeliers and lighting.  I managed to go to one once.  I don't remember the name but if you Google something like Amish Furniture Stores in PA or lighting/chandleier I think you'll find something.  I'll keep searching, if I find it, I'll report back.

I think the current search terms would be rustic or farmhouse lighting.

A lot of what PB and RH offer are more industrial looks with black iron and bare lightbulbs.

I like the retro look of tiffany glass shades and I'm also fond of searching places like Habitat Restores. I've seen Waterford chandeliers going for a song!

@house_cat   Do you like roosters?

Thank you. I was really thinking of something more subtle, without the roosters, for instance, but I really like that one. I'll add Lamps Plus to my list.

 kitchen-lighting-ideas-natural-light-windows@house_cat Sometimes I have better luck typing in country kitchens and seeing what they look like hanging over table or islands.One of these might be pretty.  It seems more authentic.... yet simple.
