I love the benches.  I'd get some for my kitchen if I had the space.

It does not look like a kitchen with that photo on the wall.  This is too modern for me, including the benches.

I opened this thread yesterday and didn't post on it because I didn't know what to say about this kitchen.  And here it is, a new day, and I still don't know what to say.

 

I think I just don't get it.  And I think the chairs are the least confusing issue.

Some avant-garde designer trying to be "cool".  Definitely not designing for the general population!  It's okay for a magazine spread, but wouldn't work very well in real life.
