Several of you talked about washing the walls so I attacked guest room today. I used the dry swiffer duster that I use to dust floors on the walls. I think it worked well and did not require stepstool.

I'm like you, only I do my major cleaning in the late Fall. I figure I'm stuck inside a lot in the colder weather and want things clean when I'm home most!
My mom (now 80) taught me to deep clean. I recall being an early teen and washing down walls in my bedroom. Her favorite cleaner was and still is Spic 'n Span. She had the powdered version in the 1970's. I hated trying to get it to disolve.
When I deep clean, I do one large thing every week or so. It's just too hard on my hands otherwise. They can't handle too much scrubbing/wringing out these days.

I just finshed the blinds in my kitchen/laundry room. I still have to do my son's bedroom and our computer room and bathroom.
I was so ticked off when I broke part of a slat in my kitchen blinds. I ended up gluing it back together with Gorilla glue. They are in like new condition even though they are 20 years old, and I have five windows all the same, so I knew I'd be hard-pressed to afford new.
After I glued it, I was on YouTube and saw there's tutorials on replacing a slat. Oh well...

Showers are the worst!
I found that the cleaner called Zep (at Home Depot) along with a still brush attached to a drill works for us.
As for mold, being I live in Oregon where it's damp a lot, I discoverd Concrobium does a good job.

I have always enjoyed cleaning and decluttering...I do start a heavy cleaning in January, especially if we have a lot of snow and I feel trapped in the house. Since I keep clutter out of the house year around I don't have a lot to get rid of so cleaning is a bit easier.
Today, I am cleaning carpet upstairs, oh my that carpet is dirty! I wish we could change our habits and take shoes off and not wear them up stairs, but so far we only do a so so job of removing shoes.

@timeless When I was a kid my Mom washed and waxed our venetian blinds every spring. That involved taking them all down and taking them apart. The slats were then washed down in the basement in old laundry tubs. When they were dry my job was to "wax" them with that old stuff called Glass Wax. Mom would put all new tapes and cords on them when we put them all back together and rehung them AFTER we washed all the windows and did the dreaded Glass Wax on the windows!
We had about 30 windows.....how I hated that part of 'spring cleaning' !! I can still smell that dreaded Glass Wax!
Some times the 'Good ole days' were not so good!

@Mom2Dogs She always said that waxing them would keep the dust from sticking.....yeah right ! LOL

I won't switch my clothes around for a few weeks yet. As far as the house goes, we're waiting on delivery of a bathroom wall cabinet to match a vanity we already bought. Once it's here we're going to tear our master bath apart, wash everything and paint. It'll be a basic neutral color. I'm still mulling over a couple different shower curtains and then will decide on towels. When the weather is nice enough to leave windows open, and when DH can schedule a few days off, we'll be doing bedrooms; washing walls, windows and window treatments. The LR, DR, FR, and kitchen all need walls washed. The outside windows need to washing too.

That's a nice accomplishment.
I remember taking the miniblinds outdoors on the driveway laid out on towels to wash them. I am surprised I did not break them. I have fewer of them now and am thankful for microfiber towels.
