I love those stools and I love the texture on the sideboard at the left of the picture.  I hope everyone opened the image in another screen so they can see more detail.  

I am dying to move the stools away from the counter so they look as if they are in use!  I want to sit down and relish that space.

Rather than this being a primary residence, I believe this is a kitchen that abuts a 'great room' at a second or vacation home. That might explain why it is sort of a minimal kitchen area, though I believe there is a pantry or storage area nearby. Although I'm not one to embrace the whole 'coastal' or 'nautical' vibes, for some reason I do love this very simple and pleasing kitchen. I absolutely love the lighting fixtures. In fact, while I'd not likely opt to replicate this kitchen in my own home, I find I actually very much like all of the elements in this compact but seemingly functional kitchen area. Like others, I don't often tend toward bright white, but do think it works nicely in this space juxtaposed against the lovely wood floors, the navy and the back splash, all of which help break up the white.
