I find both pictures tolerable.   I do like the black and white plaid, but not the other black and white patterns.   If this were in my house, I would have to add something red.

Not my style but in the right setting I think it would be nice. Not sure I would call it "rustic". I like the Black & White but agree with @RedTop - it needs a little "pop" of color.

Cottage look, yes...rustic look, no.

I've never seen a valance underneath a curtain.  I don't like that.  I do like the fabrics.  I like the valance in the first picture of the sinks, but that's all that I like about it.

The cabinetry in the bathroom is too large and white IMO. Maybe smaller cabinets in a slightly warmer white color. Love the walls though.

This is a charming cottage but in no way is it rustic.

Re: Rustic Cottage Bath

[ Edited ]

To the posters who do not think the cottage is rustic. I disagree.

if you look closely, you will see that there is no trim on the paneling between the walls and ceiling.  You can see where the wood was cut and it isn't even. There is no trim in the corners where the two walls meet also.

it is furnished so nicely, that the rustic unfinished areas are not noticed at first. It is especially noticeable in the bedroom.

Sure, for my dream cottage on a Northwoods lake.
