May be an image of furniture, bedroom and living room

One change I would make is to pull the seating away from the bottom shelves to make them accessible.

The striping pattern and colors almost match up with the books on the shelves.  And I agree to pull it away from the bookcases, too.

The chaise is on casters (I have one like it).

I don't think the mushroom hanging lamp is particualrly good for reading, tho.....

@Iwantcoffee

Thank you for sharing.

Since childhood I have found wicker and rattan to be super uncomfortable.  I would probably choose an overstuffed chair/ottoman, a loveseat, a daybed or a chaise for a truly dedicated reading room.

Actually our whole home is a reading room. We have about 3500 books and bookcases in all the rooms. The most books are in the loft. Recently we organized them and generally know where history,bios,etc are.

I also wish the chaise lounger was pulled out so it would make access to the lower shelves easier.  Pesonally, I don't care for all the open shelving as I think, most of the time, it looks cluttered.  I will say, however, that this doesn't look as cluttered as most I've seen.

Oh, yes!  Could snuggle down into this. I agree that the colors in the  furniture correspond  well with the books. It looks like the room would have good lighting for reading.  This is a good one.

The only things I like in this room are the books!
