I would like to be where I can put my tootsies in the sand and a glass of wine in my right hand. Something about the waves crashing to the shore just soothes me.

@Oznell  loved your pics.

My parents owned a small house on a lake in a very small town. I loved going there and sitting on the swing watching the ducks swim past. It was the most relaxing place. I haven’t found any place as peaceful since they sold that house.

Im with you---Im not a beach person AT ALL!!!!   most are very crowded, ....there's dead jelly fish and other dead  sea life on the beach, creepy creatures in the water, you never seem to rid of all the sand in your bathing suit and car......then there's trying to avoid getting sun burn even with suntain lotion, ---- just not my thing! .....people can have it....

For us, all things with water views, sounds esp. the ocean.  We head to So. Maine for vacations.  When we aren't there, I miss the sunrise/sunset at the beach, the Nubble Lighthouse & esp, the sandpipers.  They're cutest mini birds & I get a kick out of watching them.

Question:  what are "strips with pits?"

@Dreamon

That may not be your home but boy are you fortunate to have the view of a bay.  I'm Pices as well, but no where as fortunate as you.  We're in the city, on a side street - not a fan of this & hope to be able to move at least to a town near hear with a country setting.

@Spurt   You summed up the beach perfectly.  My view exactly.  We must be weird as everybody LOVES the beach.

Have you been out in the countryside to see the flowers this year?  They ought to be perfect right now.  You can't beat Texas for wildflowers.

Never ever liked the beach.....some may indeed call us weird...LOL

I love the Texas wildflowers!  My friends and I thought about venturing out and taking a drive to see the wildflowers....but because of the quarantine we'd probably have to take separate cars and have a whole caravan ....LOL....so we scraped the idea....so the only ones Ive seen this year are a few patches in my neighborhood.... Woman Sad

Spurt, I have two friends who retired in Texas and I drove through the Hill Country. Very special place. I also like Austin very much.

Sceniccoast -- Strips pits happen when mining operations makes holes in the ground and earth is moved to the side. Hubs and friends purchased their land (cheap) from coal mining company and the holes filled with water and the earth to the side made hilly landscape. The Missouri Conservation Department has been good to guide the guys on how to make the land recreational. How do I say this? While I like to hike and snow shoe hike on the lovely, natural land -- the accommodations are rugged. It's more of my hubs' happy place.

Future travel plans are going to the coast of Maine. I may ask advice before we go. Never been before.

I do love Door County, WI. Just something about it. Visited about 5 times. I want to take a class at the Clearing Folk School.

Looking forward to traveling again.

@jeanlake

Thanks for explaining.

You're quite the traveller.  You must have so many good memories & pictures to look thru over & over again.

I'd be happy to share the experiences of visiting Maine.  It's more able the simple things I enjoy.  If you love swimming, the water is quite cold so be prepared for that.  I haven't swam in about 5 years, just basically like walking the shoreline early a.m. & early evening when the beaches are cleared.

Wishing you happy travelling.
