Try a Woolite type product and cold water.

@goldensrbestlol  Because I'm not working and am not going out to any of my usual social activtiies, I'm wearing clothes so old, there's nothing left to fade!

When "normal" arrives, I expect to be so sick of most of them that I'll toss them into a rag barrel somewhere.

Wash in cold water only, use a more gentler cycle, turn clothes inside out, air dry only and use Woolite for Darks. This is my regiman to no fading.

For dark work clothes, I use dark woolite and a cup of white vinegar to each load (think of dye retention with Easter eggs).

I air dry work clothes.

My stay at home wear and DH's clothes get Cheer with color guard.  Your soap does make a difference.

I use the "pure color" setting on my washer for my tops and pants, which uses cold water. I also hang most of my tops and pants to dry.

@goldensrbest  I agree with everyone else to use only cold water...no matter what the instruction label says. I don't put my "good" clothes in the dryer, either.

I have a hard time finding the special detergent for darks (which can be used on any color you don't want to fade, not just darks), but there are a couple of detergent "boosters" out there that you add to your regular detergent to help prevent fading. I use the Oxi-Clean one, and it really does work! Look for a smaller, dark-colored bottle, and the words "helps prevent fading" on the label.
