After seeing your pics of the Texas Hill Country, I don't blame you for loving it. That countryside with all those flowers is just gorgeous. If I'm lucky, maybe some day I'll find my way down there to visit.

Come down in the spring....in Central and South Texas the flowers are in bloom in March--South Texas usually has the most flowers....In the Hill Country and in North Texas the flowers bloom in April.....
BUT we need a good fall rain to get an abundant crop....

So fortunate to have visited a good bit of the world and all but one state.
Blessed to have been born where my heart is.

I live on a river, surrounded by mountains. Very tranquil and serene.
@jeanlake My property is very similar to yours.![]()
I also had a connection with Sedona. I would move there in a heartbeat, but it would be further away from my family.

That would be Paris in winter, maybe a 3rd floor studio in the 7th. A hundred happy places within a few minutes' walk.

I don't need to live on the water, but I do want to live near the water. We live on Lake Michigan now, and always have, so I love the water. I also would like something quiet, serene and peaceful, and not too busy! Small town by water sounds great to me!

Thank you for your responses to respite places. Rainy day in central Midwest so I read through your answers again this morning. Pictured the places you described and will say - how calming for my spirit.
Hubs went to his happy place yesterday. Perfect weather. Fished and waved and his friend. Sat across a firepit from him and caught up with life and grandkids. (college friends) Hubs came back home so relaxed and happy. Still sleeping at 9 AM. Maybe I'd better go check on him!
Blessings to all and may you enjoy your happy places soon. If your happy place is your current environment or close by -- you are fortunate, indeed!
