@cotton4me I'm happy for you!I'm by myself as well.i rent,but have been looking for a condo for 2 solid yrs.i cannot afford the association fees on the decent looking ones.so I'm stuck in a 2 br 2 b/1 car garage.doesnt sound bad right?wrong!I have what you call a slumlord who does not invest any money in his property.either I live with it,or pay for it myself.sorry for the rant

Sorry to hear that @Luvsmyfam   It’s too bad you have that kind of landlord.  Life is tough enough without that.  I hope you can find something better. Said a prayer for just that.

Some great information here but bottom line you have to be happy where you are in life including your home.

They have some beautiful over 55 gated rental communities here.  I toured the latest ones $1243/mth, 1253 sq ft., 2 baths, 2 beds & single garage.

Very tempting to me as once I'm "alone" I don't want the responsibility of maintaining a home. At least, this is how I feel after taking over all maintenance since my spouse is no longer able to do even the small things☹️
