In situ, it is probably not that close.  It is probably a set-up for the photoshoot.  They have to have things re-arranged in order to show them.  I doubt, in reality, they are that close.  Like you say, it would be hazardous

After hunting, I found that this is an ancient estate (now a hotel) in Italy, circa 1800's in the Province of Noto.  I always love to find the history of a place when I can.  For more info:
