Hi @NickNack 

You could even, just for your own decision-making process, put the picture on the books, or place just one candlestick on a couple of coasters to raise it further, or switch the picture with the candlesticks.

These are all just things you may or may not want to think about and you don't have to share any pictures if you decide to give them a try (or not).

Be sure to ask Ava her opinion. I bet she has sophisticated taste.

@NickNack  I think you've found an excellent way to mimic the angle of the top of your fireplace and angle of your ceiling with the accessories. The placement of the 2 candleholders has them ascending to the right, and the placement of the 2 vases (with the greenery in the right one) has those ascending to the right as well. There is symmetry in the 5 pieces when looking at the width of them; the candleholders & picture are close to the same width as the 2 vases & greenery. You have a great eye for this.

Your mantel is beautiful.

Just my suggestion, switch the black vase to the left side, with the white vase right to it.

Put the picture just to the right of center, and arrange the candles to the right of the picture.  I'm not sure if you the tall one should be on the outside or the inside directly next to the picture.
