To answer your question, @Kachina624 , I usually find something appealing in all the locales of any house I post. And this is no exception. Let's see, I've put up places in Sweden, Mexico, the U.K., Connecticut, Michigan, California, France-- can't remember them all! But I have to like the "whole package" to want to post it. This property to me seems lovely and in sync with the surrounding area.
And I say that having lived for years in high humidity New Orleans!
@Spacrazy, it sounds to me like you have the ideal set-up there, with your home, your family, your beautiful acreage, animals and ancient trees! I envy you.
A few pictures of the region to get us in the "East Texas" mood! Below, Tyler State Park:
The Azalea Trail looks so alluring...
Water, sun, sky, and that level, beckoning horizon....

Such a beautiful home in a pretty part of the country. Thanks for posting.

@Oznell I love this East Texas house!
It simply speaks to me in so many ways, but I especially love the pale robin's egg blue used throughout and am now seriously considering it instead of light blue/grey. I too have bird prints, porcelain, a bird tree for the holidays but keep it up year round with just birds and nests. I love the rustic with the "fine" elements, wonderful.

Beautiful home!!!!
I agree, love it except for the location---hmmmm wonder how much it would cost to move the house to SA or the Texas Hill Country..🤔..much more desirable locale.....for me anyway 😉.....Keep me far away from H Town as you can and the East Texas humidity.....we have humidity but not as bad
@Spurt As you know, East Texas is hundreds of square miles of absolutely flat, dense pine forests owned or leased by big lumber companies. It's full of swampy land, mosquitoes, venomous snakes and no cooling breeze ever penetrates. Hot and humid. Nothing to see or do.

Wow, I would love your house, @author -- so many points of similarity. Your bird tree-- wonderful idea! @Homegirl has done super things along that line, as well....

Yep, and H Town itself was built over a swamp...no go for me...

Thanks again @Oznell plus the new pics I love them. The azaleas are amazing and we’ll be so glad to return to all the tours and activities that celebrate their beauty.
The only other mention to share is this just happens to be The Rose Capital of the world.
Keep the pics coming. The joy and beauty of your posts are so welcome and puts smiles on so many of us.

@Spacrazy East Texas is no rose capital. Tyler calls itself that.

Good grief @Kachina624 Do you wake up every day and decide who you can argue with, dispute with and generally wish to make miserable.
BTW I LIVE IN TYLER/Smith County and have businesses there that provide many jobs and pay taxes on land in surrounding zip codes.
Gotta go right now and pick some of the beautiful roses in my front bushes to arrange and enjoy as they are in full bloom right now.

@Spacrazy Good for you. Enjoy your roses.
I dispute inaccuracies; I don't argue.
