I'm usually more attracted to "small",  rather than "sprawling", in houses, but this one designed by the invaluable Cathy Kincaid, seemed inviting.  I like the pond too.

Love this airy living room--  traditional but fresh.  The vaulted, raftered ceiling gives such an open feeling.  Faves are the Federal mirror, the ships, birds, painted furniture, sweet art prints.

Most of all, love the pale blue walls.  My living room is basically the same color (Benj. Moore's "Woodlawn Blue") and I find that a pale, vaguely robin's egg blue acts as a cheerful neutral, almost.  Like the sky.

Cathy Kincaid always has beautiful fabrics.

Am guessing that this more casual sitting room, with its rustic architecture, might be in the horizontal wing that looks like it extends to the right of the house in the exterior picture....   Love it when older houses look like they sort of "grew" organically, with wings added over time ....

Wish they had shown more of this kitchen, which looks darling.  Hey, just noticed the painted floors, another fave.

Cathy went a little wild in the hallway with that bold paisley print.  I don't mind that so much in a small space like a hallway, which you pass through quickly...

Master bedroom is so English-influenced, with the charming faux bamboo bed, comfortable easy chairs, and mix of dainty floral and spunky gingham fabrics...

A real dressing table, and good light!

Another comfy bedroom....

Detail from the bedroom.  I know from past posts here that not everybody shares my 'bird obsession', but I'm reveling in this, ha.

Speaking of details, here are some more examples of Cathy Kincaid's exquisite little vignettes from around the house:

Scrumptious linens from another bedroom:

To me there's a sense of spacious calm, and English-accented comfort, to this Texas country house.

Oh--  you might not remember previous Cathy Kincaid posts, but this is still probably my all-time favorite of one of her interiors, from the "Connecticut river house".  She can really create a mood!

The outside looks good but I do not care for the interior.

@Oznell  I'm in love with the chair and bird in the 10th picture. I have lots of bird decor in my home too. Don't even know how that happened over the years. lol

Thanks for another great post.Smiley Happy

@Oznell   The question that come to my mind is, would you want to live in East Texas?  I'm very familiar with conditions there and definitely would not.

Re: RAMBLING EAST TEXAS HOUSE

I live in east Texas and so does all my family. Retired from Dallas and carefully picked the land we live on and worked hard to develope. My daughter and her husband built a beautiful home which is similar to the photos depicted here. After raising her family and a successful growing business which employ a number of dedicated people her children returned from college to make their homes and careers here. This year my first great grandchild was born here and built their home on the acre adjacent to me which was formerly where our mini donkeys pastured.

You might not favor the conditions here but as I look out over the seven hundreds of year old oak trees while the horses graze as I swing with my sweet grand baby having just celebrated his first Christmas
