Re: Quilting finished, clean up and borders to go

@LIndaMJ I also like the thought of using green.  It might be hard to see but there is a lighter green as background to the big flowers (showing in stripes that is quite nice.  I will look for that as a possibility.

@Lilysmom1   Absolutely stunning quilt!

I second @CelticCrafter , the navy would look gorgeous for the top and bottom borders.

@Alsace Gal , I agree.  I think I will go with @CelticCrafter's suggestion.

@Lilysmom1  I have thing with symmetry so I would also make it the same width as the navy on the side so that it doesn't look off.

Absolutely gorgeous @Lilysmom1 :  Who gets this heirloom quilt?  I know you have quilted other ones for various people so I was just wondering.

Re: Quilting finished, clean up and borders to go

@Hoovermom There is a story behind this quilt.  My 76 year old sister who taught me to quilt some 30 years ago put this quilt together.  She gave it to me and asked that I finish it.  She had barely begun to quilt it.  She has dementia and I don't think she could finish it which makes me very sad.  I will keep this one to remind me of her teaching me this skill.  This one will stay in the family.

 - if you are doing the borders for top/bottom then I would make them the same as side borders.
