Re: Quilting finished, clean up and borders to go

Beautiful work! When I was a junior in high school our scout troop made a quilt, oh my the work! My hat is off to you, I remember the sore fingers I had!! You are so dedicated and talented.

I love quilts and this is a beautiful one.  For the border maybe the bright green that is in the green narrow stripe?

 @We rescue cats @Effie54 @QVCkitty1 @Zhills et al thanks for your comments and recommendations.

I like the idea of dark blue, deep burgundy and pulling the green or yellow colours out.  I would have to see the yellow.  My brain doesn't go there first but I love yellow.  A small print like the stripe might be good.  I will hit the fabric stores when I return from our trip.

@LindaSal @CarolinaGirl88  @DrakesMomma @mildoo thanks for the ideas.

Beautiful!  I don't see much hand applique and hand quilting anymore.  With all the fancy sewing machines and quilting machines it seems hand work is lacking on most quilts today and I love hand work.

I wouldn't "pull out" a color for the border.  I would choose the bright pink of the narrow stripes, especially if you are doing a narrow border.  But any size border in a minor color would be glaring, I think.

Absolutely gorgeous!  I am in awe of your talent.  I think I would choose the green.

Unless you're looking to make it bigger, if it were me, I would try to find the navy in the panel and just add it to the top and bottom and then bind it.

@sandy53 that would look nice.

You are right about not much hand quilting anymore.  Even my friends who are great sewers are opting more and more for machine quilting.

I love to have a project each winter so I make one every year.
