Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

You paid for the gas & used some of it. My item has not been paid for yet or even available to be sent to me. Totally different scenarios.

The new shipping charges are in effect starting today - February 2. Why would you think you should be refunded anything for items you ordered before today? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

yes this. And how far back should they go to refund peoples' s/h difference? It gets kind of ridiculous.

I happen to agree with the OP. With this logic, if you ordered an item 2 weeks ago for $30 and now it has been reduced to $20, then we shouldn't expect a price adjustment since we knew it was $30 and happily paid it. If QVC is going to have a policy in place that if the price is reduced, you can get a price adjustment then it should apply to S&H as well. For the same 30 days QVC gives you to call in for one.

In my case, I had one order still in process and had read on one thread that if it was still in process CS could adjust it. So I called to get the $7.72 adjusted to $3.00 and CS would not. Since it was still available, I cancelled the order and reordered it. With the reduction on the sale tax due to the lower S&H, I saved almost $6. I also had 2 waitlist items that CS would also not adjust, so I cancelled them and re-waitlisted them and saved $11.

Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

I ordered polar fleece sheets last Friday using a check payment as they were a gift and wanted to confirm with niece before I placed the order. I called CS to change over to credit card today -- also noted the s/h on Friday was $9.92 but today it would be $5. Thoroughly explained to CS. (Color was unavailable today) CS said they would be happy to charge my account BUT NOT adjust the s/h. I'm not going to squabble over $4.42 right now as I know color is important. YET I will not be doing ANY impulse buys or gifts knowing the details of the new policies. This is why I will NOT shop with ShopHQ they do not refund originally s/h and they are high also.

Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

I purchased three items on 1/26. They shipped on 1/29 and 1/30. It never even crossed my mind to call CS and ask for a refund.

I do not agree that the 30 day adjustment on merchandise should be the same for shipping and handling. One is merchandise, the other is a service.

I do not think the op should be refunded on those shipping charges. If she were to be refunded, I think everyone should be refunded (me included). What a nightmare that would be. How many millions made purchases on those dates? I don't agree with the poster who said it was just good customer service, for the same reasons.

The op is going to return her purchases. QVC won't care and I don't blame them.

Your not getting any discount. They lowered the price on S&H and raised the item prices. I went back and looked at some of my purchases over the past month where shipping was $6.79 etc. the shipping is now $3.00 and the price of the item went up $4.00. I noticed this on several things. Due to the number of items QVC offers, its going to take their IT Dept a little time to update everything. They are just pulling the wool over your eyes!!!!

Yep, QVC isn't going to lose a dime. "Pulling the wool over your eyes" is correct.

I had an e-mail in my mailbox this morning from QVC customer service about this very thing. It sounds like they are reducing shipping charges and there was a breakdown (i.e. $3.00 flat for items apparel, jewelry and beauty, etc). Message says practice goes into effect today, February 2, 2015 and says nothing about it being a promotional program. I kind of thought it was their effort to stay more competetive with other on-line retailers as their shipping/handling is so high here on the Q. I know myself, I don't purchase nearly as much as I used to because of that very issue. Oh and BTW, they will no longer offer reduced shipping if you are buying more than one of a specific item, which I would be fine with this, seeing that it would be $3.00 for each. HTH. Cheryl -

They are also not going to REFUND the original shipping charges on returns from some date in Feb. So it will now be like SHopHQ with no shipping refunds. So they aren't losing much in reducing shipping....

No they won't. That happened to me too.

They will adjust for a price reduction but not for s/h.
