Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

Geez. Qvc is right here. When you buy something you better be happy with the price because a better price can always happens. Can you imagine any online retailers adjusting shipping for millions because they ordered a few weeks before a free shipping special.

We all get what you are saying. You want adjustments on shipping for items you purchased before today when the shipping charges went into effect. I stand by what I said - I don't think people should expect Q to do it.

The shipping changes began 3 days ago, on January 30.

Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

If you bought something at a certain price (including shipping), why expect them to lower the price after the fact?

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.

Where does it say that? I only see things that say it's in effect starting today?

Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

This is the Email I got:

Every day we’re working hard to deliver more value to you—as we always have. Today is no exception. We’re excited to offer new S&H rates on most items where we charge shipping & handling for standard delivery, starting February 2, 2015.

  • All apparel, beauty, and jewelry ships at $3, regardless of price or weight.
  • Most items under $50 and less than 1 lb ship at $3.
  • Most other items under $100 and 1 lb or more ship at $5 or $7.
  • Items $100 or more ship at existing S&H rates; however, many of these include S&H or offer free S&H.

As part of this change, we will no longer discount S&H when you buy two or more items in the same order, but our new S&H rates will benefit you in many cases.

In addition, we will continue to refund original S&H on returns if an item is defective or we made an error; however, effective with orders placed on or after February 17, 2015, if you return the item for any other reason, we will no longer refund the original S&H.

We sincerely thank you for shopping with us, and hope this makes your shopping experience at QVC even better.

If they will credit the difference for any price reductions within a certain number of days, I don't understand why they won't credit the s&h difference in this situation.

Are they even advertising this promotion on air or anywhere on the website?

At the top on the homepage, and also here. They won't (and shouldn't) credit the difference because the new charges weren't in effect when she purchased the items. They also shipped out before February 2nd.

Yes, the homepage has the information now, but there was no information until today, February 2.

Sure, it is debatable whether or not QVC should offer adjustments, but from reading other threads, it is very obvious that some CS agents will adjust and some will not--very inconsistent as usual.

For the record, the $3 and $5 s&h charges started showing up on the website on January 30, so many of these slightly older questioning threads (mine included) were started BEFORE QVC decided to offer any explanation, which was just today, February 2.

Thx Shoppr !! As you said QVC is inconsistent so for others to say it's black and white........it's like beating a dead horse, lol !!! This is my last post on "S & H gate, lol !!!

Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

The new rates are in effect February 2. (If) some items showed up at lower rates on January 30. If the items someone ordered weren't listed at the lower rates on January 30, then I still stand by my comment regarding not getting an adjustment.

You may convince Q to adjust the shipping for the 2 items that shipped on the 30th, but again, they don't really have to since that wasn't the effective date and there doesn't seem to be anything in writing saying reduced shipping started January 30. The other items that weren't shipped before the 30th should not qualify for any adjustment.

Personally, I would just accept it the way it is.

Correct, BUT, the reduced s&h items began appearing on the website on January 30. The OP had recently ordered items that had only just shipped on that same date. QVC may not have made it official until February 2, but savvy shoppers notice these things and are not necessarily in the wrong to question the changes. That's all. QVC tends to make things as clear as mud. They could have published the info before or at the same time as making the rate changes.
