Re: QVC Deception

[ Edited ]

@Kachina624   I'm sorry you are disappointed with yours.  But deception????

It was called the Garden Reflections 14" Cascading Morning Glory Hanging Basket.

I received mine and love it.  It was clearly named, and included in the description, that it was 14" this year.  The previous version, which I also have, was 18".  That indeed is a big difference.

The measurement is from the width of the fully fluffed greenery, not the basket width.  For me, that helps knowing where I can place it and how much room I have to accommodate it.  I don't want the basket fitting, but the greenery all bunched up because the full size wasn't taken into account.  That's the same as it was in the previous TSV.

My new one (the 14" TSV) fully fluffed out measures over 13" -- that was my quick measurement trying to capture the fullest points of greenery from one side to the other.

I purchased it knowing it would complement my other ones and be smaller, not be exactly like it.  The foliage is full and beautiful (I got the white one).   I've gotten lots of compliments on it already.

@Caaareful Shopper    We'll have to disagree on this one.  The standard in the nursery industry for hanging baskets is to sell them by the width of the basket.  The one I received is 8" which is unrealistically small for a hanging basket.  It might be proportionate to a small bathroom or walk-in closet but nothing larger.  It's ridiculous to suggest it's a 14 incher because a tendril or two is that length.  It was a deliberate attempt to deceive.

@Kachina624   I understand now.  But all the ones I have shopped for measure just like the QVC TSV.  I also wanted item H371510 -- the Nearly Natural Bougainvilla Hanging basket, measured at 28" (but too expensive for my needs).

I looked at a hanging basket on Amazon's site from a company called House of Silk Flowers.  I didn't buy that one either since it was also more money than I was going to spend.  The measurement was 24" x 24" x 26", with another line later in the description -- basket is 12" diameter, 6" high.

QVC should adopt that 2-line measurement for their potted plants and hanging baskets -- plant width and basket width. Both dimensions are very important.

When I opened the box and pulled out that plant I was looking around for the real thing because I was for sure they sent the wrong item. I see QVC edited the online dimensions of the plant, because what's there now wasn't there when my plant was delivered Wednesday. I checked back 2 days later after reading the numerous one star reviews and see QVC edited the dimensions. This thing looks like something Barbie would hang in her Dream House. I can't return this fast enough.

@Kachina624 did you return your plant to QVC yet? If so, did they give you any problems regarding a full refund? I just boxed mine up and will take it down to the post office at lunch. I emailed them via the easy returns program.

@DJs mom    No, I haven't had time to fool with it.  Must do this weekend.
