Re: Pretty neat idea for your home

My MIL had this same configuration in her kitchen. One day when it was open her kitten decided it looked like a good hiding place. MIL closed it without realizing Kitty was evidently on the backside of a shelf. The whole family was involved in a loooooong search before finding Kitty and dragging her out after unloading both shelves. That was our first indication that Kitty would prove to be a ""difficult child.""

My mom has this in her kitchen. Very handy. I think this would be great to have because I sometimes find myself sitting on the floor reaching for things in the far corner. Smiley Happy

Re: Pretty neat idea for your home

Had one of these in my previous condo. Good idea - makes use of that "dead" corner space. However, a couple of cautions - first of all, don't put anything that's heavy as the weight will crack the shelf. And, be cautious when you spin the turntable around - some things may fall off into the corner. I did this several times and the items were lost forever as I couldn't remove the turntable. The next owner will have some surprises if and when he/she ever does a redo of the cabinets!!

Re: Pretty neat idea for your home

My dad built one (He could do everything!) like in the picture for our kitchen when I was growing up. It was very nice. Really makes good use of space that might otherwise go unused.

I use lazy Susans in my cupboard. I keep flavored coffee on one, spices, extracts, and emulsions, etc. on another. They are great for supplements, too.

It's a great idea if you have a corner closet. I use a lazy susan in my spice shelf and wouldn't be without one.

I had one where the shelf was made of metal. I put canned goods on it. Never had a problem with it.

I have a lazy susan in my kitchen. Both shelves are made of wood and work very well. I keep awkward items on them that are hard to store on conventional shelves. It's also a good use for that hard to reach corner area.

This idea isn't new. Been around a long, long time.

Re: Pretty neat idea for your home

I have one and love it! Holds canisters, hand mixer, some foods. The lazy Susan allows the use of space that would otherwise be wasted or hard to reach.
