We do not have a house that grand, but the exterior elements are very much what our house has.  It was the style about 20 years ago, and is still being built around here.  The shutters, copper element over a window, porch, and the look of a house built over time--all familiar to me.

Inside?  Dark floors and such remind me of our house.

Oklahoma became a state in 1907, and was settled in land runs for a lot of the state in the 1890's.  So old houses? Few and far between.

Mostly there are small frame houses from the 1930's and 40's, ranch houses from the 1950's and 60's, mid century modern from those days, then Beaver Cleaver style, and then brick Dallas style houses, then more like the one in the picture.

Around here, you can almost nail the decade a house was built just by looking.  Not many 2-stories until the 80's, and still very few basements.

I like it-very pretty! I would however replace the light fixtures, and get rid of the paneling in the office.. I just don't like paneling whatsoever. Otherwise a very nice home, wih a beautiful kitchen, and eating area and beautiful living room with a statement fireplace......

I also agree with whomever said paint the door a lighter color!

@stevieb

It's a nice home & property.  It's too formal for my taste.  I do like the foyer & sitting room.

Older homes have plenty of pros/cons to them.  One thing they did have is quality.  Thanks for sharing.

Very nice home. I like every area and decor but the Library would get a redo from walls to furniture and carpet.

Beautiful home!  Not a high back chair fan. That's my only issue with this stunning home.

I love the outside of the house and I love the fireplace.  I don't like things that are so formal, so I am not so crazy about the rest.  I also like more color and personality.  If I had this, I would sure mix it up!

I agree. I actively dislike the library.

Beautiful home...but the trees in front of the windows and that paneling would have to go...

I like this home but would make some changes to suit my taste.  The sitting room is lovely and I like the idea of a library but would have different furnishings.  The space is appealing throughout the home also.
