There's no denying many of the new builds employing similar architectural elements, and there are many, are quite attractive. Still, when all is said and done, my personal choice would be for an older house that is, perhaps, a bit less predictable. Of course, there can be a downside to that too and an older home in the neighborhood of choice isn't always an option...

The House...

The Foyer...

A Sitting Room...

The Kitchen...

The Dining Room...

The Library... Even given good bones, the only thing I like about this room's furnishings or decor is the table-desk...

@stevieb I love it. The custom features and design choices are just my style. I would even overlook the open concept kitchen which I typically would not want.

My favorite room is the sitting room, beautiful!   I'm not sure about the table in the foyer?

I guess it's big enough to accomodate it but not sure I like it.

Guess if I could afford it, I could afford the staff to clean it......

However, I prefer something somewhat smaller and more comfy and homey, which I find this isn't.  To me this would be like living in a museum.

First, I would paint that door a light blue, hate the dark color. Then I'd rip out and replace the light fixtures in the first 2 photos. I am extremely fussy about what kind of light fixtures I like. Then I'd get rid of those awful drapes.

There are parts I like but overall it's  no for me.

Very nice.  I like it.  The only thing that caught my eye right away was the trees on either side of the front door.  They're right in front of the window.  That would bug me.

@ScrapHappy

I don't like the trees there either.

@stevieb

In addition to not liking the 2 trees in front of the windows, I think the wood trim around the front porch looks out of place. Other than that I like the exterior.

Most of the furnishings and colors inside are fine. I would switch out a few things and add a bit more color here and there, but overall, I like it. My least favorite room is the library. I really don't like the wood paneling in that room.

Very nice pictures of a nice house, but not for me.
