I could do without the curtains, but otherwise it's very nice!

A very good space but I'd like to start over with the decor and I'd retain very little of what's there now.

Kind of a hot mess. It looks like it was decorated by someone that really wishes they were an interior decorator, but they're just not.

For some reason, it all seems to work.  The only thing I don't like is the butterfly painting.

Re: Patterns at Play

[ Edited ]

@lolakimono I think the room needs some changes, too.

That overhead light fixture has to go! Ditto the darker ivory shaded floor lamp in the far corner, which distracts my eye as it is not pure white like the other lampshade. The butterfly painting over the fireplace is a bit too intense for my taste, and that coffee table reminds me of a trampoline for some reason, and I do not like it, as a result.

Other than those objections, I really do like the room.  LOL.

ETA: I just realized I didn't answer your question about the patterns and textures. I kind of like them, except for the pattern of the painting over the fireplace, which is a bit too jarring with its much brighter blue background.

Blue is my favorite color.  However, I find this room dizzying.

The painting is too much. Also too many stools around. How many people you have over! 🤣 I agree with posters who said the one chair is a no. Otherwise a great room.

The stone fireplace, mantle and rug can stay..........everything else can go and start over.  Too busy for me.  Can't figure out what that lone table is doing by the fireplace?

I like the blue  and can see that  the use of metal, stone , leather  and the print of butterflies   working together . If I was on vacation in the mountains with my family the room  would be perfect.
