We have a "huge" den in our home. My husband and I are in our 60's (don't have the energy we used to have) and trying to get this home ready for sale sometime in the future. We actually got some paint samples (the little samples you can buy at Home Depot (Behr Paint). We did some sampling of the colors we picked over the wallpaper and picked one that worked. My husband did use Kilz first. If your wallpaper is tight to the wall you will probably be ok. We even had a border at the top of the wall and the Behr paint covered those lines as well. It came out great and you would NEVER know we painted over the wallpaper. Obviously taking the paper off is the best choice, but it would have been a gigantic job. Now I don't think this would work in a bathroom and kitchen, but for bedrooms, dens, livingrooms, etc. it works well.

Best of luck.

When we bought our house, we thought we had 60 days to move out of our rental, but only had 30 so we had to move quick. We painted over the wallpaper in the kitchen for a quick fix, used Kilz and high gloss. Our quick fix has lasted 13 years, ha, ha. We freshen the paint every few years. I would probably not recommend it, but it worked for us.
