Re: One of the odd things that bothers me

I'm not fond of the unframed mirrors in my bathroom.  I wished we would have framed them when we built this house.  Framed mirrors just seemed more finished.  Really though....not many people see the master bath off our bedroom so that doesn't really bother me.  I would like to redo the guest bathroom mirror.  I don't think it would be a great expense.

Fake flowers, unless its just one in a bud vase.  We bought a furnished cottage and I took out 4 trashbags of fake flowers.  They were hanging from draped chains and hooks, stuck into picture frames, every place possible beyond the expected vases.  And there were four conflicting scents of air fresheners.

Most of what has been mentioned doesn't bother me at all, and I love recliners if they fit the scale of the room.  Here's what I hate - Refrigerator Magnets!

One really nice one I can tolerate, but entire fridge full of them.....ugh!

Nothing bothers me!    I especially admire young people who can do great decorating things with little cash!!!!!

Odors! I have a very good nose and a stuffy, airless room or strong pet smells make me uncomfortable. As for decor, it’s not my house, so it doesn’t bother me.

How can you not like blue.  It's my second favorite color for home decor or whatev.

@Sooner. There are some people here that have some strange hang-ups.

@ccassaday

You asked  why people get refrigerators that "stick out" instead of "counter-depth"............well, the counters in many homes have a width from the wall of only 25-26 inches.

There are no refrigerators of that small depth, and who would want one that small  anyway?

I downsized to a smaller home and MUCH smaller kitchen, and I don't love the shallow counters or the fridge that sticks out, instead of the deep counters and the  Sub-Zero built-in fridge that I left behind, but this is the situation in many homes.

Y'all must be going to the wrong houses.  You should be having a drink of some sort (tea, wine or a mixed drink) in your hand right after you get a nice hug at the door and a "Come on IN!"

Then you'll be looking at a plate or cookies, slice of pie or some mixed nuts and sitting and talking with the hosts.  You'll be so happy!  You will have a good time and when  you get home you'll think, gee I can't remember what their house looked like.

I you have time to sit and comtemplate the refrigerator magnets, they aren't good hosts.

Re: One of the odd things that bothers me

Things I'd be uncomfortable with in my own house are: plastic flowers / lazy clutter (there's a difference between not having much space and just not putting things away) / trash cans that overflow / stuff all over the kitchen countertops... I swear I'm turning into a minimalist!
