I loved setting a table like this when I was still physically able to host family holiday dinners.  I really miss that.  This is gorgeous!

very pretty to look at.  just lovely.  can't imagine eating comfortably at that table, though because you'd have to be served by a butler i guess ... you couldn't even pass dishes around comfortably.  i am never comfortable being served, but maybe if i was raised that way it would be ok?

Lovely. We've also used sterling pieces (identical to that one) as centerpieces with floral arrangements, but have made it a point to keep them low enough to see over them. I do like the use of four candles; never thought of that.

Do wonder why the silver napkin rings are not being used. We have always used them, but place the linen napkins inside the sterling napkin rings. Like this table, our rings are different for each family member.

What good are they if not used? A dinner guest certainly would not put a used cloth napkin back into the napkin ring!

That was our menu for Easter Sunday. Delicious, cut catered. LOL

Re: Nicely Set Table...

@BirkiLady

If I am looking at the same items as you, I'm wondering if maybe they are small salt cellars?  I think I see a tiny spoon in one.

Or even butter dishes?

Someone that sets a table this elegantly would surely know how to use napkin rings.

In my former life of entertaining, I loved settings like this.

Those days are long gone and I miss them sometimes.

Pretty picture, but this level of formality is just not in my wheelhouse!

Where I come from, the only thing that's important on the table is the food; all this other stuff is clutter.

I love it! Especially the crystal glasses. I've never seen any like that.

I think it's very pretty and not too over the top pretentious, would certainly know how to manage through a meal sitting there...lol.

The table is beautifully set, those glasses are a unique shape (to me).

Only thing that looks odd is the lone willow plate on the wall (three men on the bridge?).  Maybe it's part of a larger grouping?

Love the centerpiece and don't think it's too high, could still have conversation over it...looks to be chest level.

This is absolutely beautiful for a Special Occasion, Holiday, Saturday Night, or Dinner Party.

It's nice to "Do It Up" once in a while.

My family has never done anything like that and I dont now either. But it is very pretty! We are not the elegant fancy type lol.
