On 2/3/2014 PKB said:I just copied this for our upstairs bathroom from a picture I found on Pinterest. The only thing I did differently was having clear glass frame-less shower door and there is a window above the tile in the tub. Sorry to brag, but I think it's stunning!
Brag if you want to PKB. I think it looks beautiful! I see this look a lot in my Country Sampler magazines. I love it and have often thought I might try it in my guest bath room. We have those "old timey" shower doors and I thought the curtains might make it look a little more updated.

And there are those of us who love large Victorian era homes and the decor that goes along with - lace, ruffles, florals, etc.

Modern isn't necessarily better. (Forgot to add that to my original post)

I've been following this thread, and maybe it's just me....but my new home is decorated to reflect what my DH and I like. An architect designed it & and a decorator helped, but we never once said to anyone involved....."make sure that vistors like our style." This is the place that we live in. There are all kinds of decorating styles in bathrooms, including shower curtains. Each one of us has our own preferences, likes and dislikes. Lots of lovely bathrooms, with all kinds of personal choices that have gone into them. No explanations necessary.

I remember when my Mom had "tub curtains" in their bathroom 30 years ago. It's old school. A nice way to dress up a bathroom in its day, but now very much out of vogue.
And obviously, if you still like the look, your home is yours to decorate as you please.

out of vogue?
Oh no! Please tell me what to do!

Not for me, but not a big deal either. My mom still likes this look in her main bathroom sometimes, though most of the time she keeps the double shower curtains closed. She likes more fullness than a single curtain provides and only ties them back when it's expected that someone will be using the tub for a bath rather than a shower.

Totally outdated.

I always thought it looked like a puppet show was about to happen.
