Re: Never did ""get"" this look

If you read my original post, I stated that was a picture I copied from. My bath has a clear frameless shower door and a window over the tub The curtains are not shower curtains, only accents. And as far as the 70's......I don't think the bathrooms had travertine and granite......and burlap is "on trend" Smiley Happy

We have a clear glass enclosure with a door that we had custom made for both bathroom showers, one upstairs and one downstairs, so you would hate both of my bathrooms. I hate shower curtains, I can't be enclosed in a shower and not be able to see out, and they get slimmy and gross and I just don't like them. I also like to have the sunlight coming in the room in my downstairs bathroom as the window is in the shower, it is up high so no one can see in so it doesn't need a shade, we extended the outside wall and put the window up high intentionally when my husband redid the bathrooms himself. We had a company come and measure and make and install the glass enclosures, expensive but well worth it.

We have the heavy clear shower doors for our showers, but just because a person has shower curtain liners, does not mean that they are slimy and gross. Good grief, liners can be cleaned or replaced easily. I've seen so many really attractive shower curtains & arrangements of them in homes that I've been in. I've also seen some pretty spotted glass shower doors in houses....if you don't have soft water, and don't immediately wipe the doors down after you use the shower, you can see spots. We have very soft water in our house, but we still squeegee the shower doors, and wipe them dry after every shower. There are all kinds of varied and beautiful bathroom decor styles.

No, leave the shower curtain open. That way people like me don't feel guilty about peeking in to see what they are hiding in there!

I just copied this for our upstairs bathroom from a picture I found on Pinterest. The only thing I did differently was having clear glass frame-less shower door and there is a window above the tile in the tub. Sorry to brag, but I think it's stunning!

i am so shocked - because i think this is gorgeous!!{#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

it must be the black and the molding!!! very nice and elegant.

but i would never do it because i also think that tiebacks and curtains like this normally look so outdated! and just like someone else said - i think it looks like a puppet show is being done. so like the OP - i never did get this look either and was glad by the time i had own apartment then home that it was already a thing of the past. i always thought it had to be something out of the 70's!

i like the single fabric shower curtain and i like to keep them closed!! and NO - my tubs are not ever dirty as someone mentioned they assume is the case.{#emotions_dlg.laugh}{#emotions_dlg.blink} living in a house full of men i am sure they would think they would be but i don't let that happen.
